NEW YORK CITY (WABC) — On this episode of “Tiempo,” we talk to a trailblazing Latina about her new memoir and take a deeper dive into President Trump’s plan to end birthright citizenship.
Rossana Rosado is the current commissioner of the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services and just penned a new memoir titled, “Bronx Attitude.”
She is also the former secretary of state of New York and was previously the first female editor and chief, CEO and publisher of “El Diario,” the country’s largest Spanish-language newspaper.
The book retraces her personal and professional journey from her upbringing in a Puerto Rican family in the Bronx to her high-level career in New York media and public service.
This episode also takes a look at President Trump’s plan to end birthright citizenship. The U.S. Supreme Court is reviewing the landmark case challenging Trump’s 2025 executive order that seeks to end birthright citizenship for children of undocumented immigrants and certain temporary visa holders.
The president wants to eliminate birthright citizenship under the 14th amendment. The final decision by the Supreme Court is expected early this summer.
Francisca Fajana joins Tanya Rivero to talk about the change that could impact thousands, especially Latinos, with loss of citizenship.
Tiempo with Joe Torres airs Sunday mornings at 11:30 on Channel 7, WABC-TV in New York City.
