NEW YORK CITY (WABC) — This episode of “Tiempo” is dedicated to the preservation of Hispanic and Latino history.

And getting a new facelift is the New Jersey Hispanic Research and Information Center at the Newark Public Library.

The center is home to 75+ archival collections, reflecting New Jersey’s Latino communities and the largest public Spanish-language book collection in the Garden State.

We’ll also head over to the Hudson River to Upper Manhattan to see the preservation of Dominican history.

The CUNY Dominican Studies Institute is the first of its kind in the U.S., dedicated to expanding research on the Dominican Republic and the Caribbean.

The city is home to over 700,000 Dominicans, according to the U.S. census.

The institute just marked a major milestone and unveiled the CUNY Cultural and History Legacy Initiative with the goal of strengthening the understanding of Dominican history and culture.

Tiempo airs Sunday at 11:30 a.m. on Channel 7, WABC-TV in New York City.
