The Las Vegas Convention Center is about halfway through a $600 million renovation that is expected to be completed before ConExpo-Con/Agg 2026.

ConExpo 2023 attendees got to see the results of a $1 billion expansion of the convention center’s West Hall that was finished in 2021. After that show, work began on renovating other sections to match the architectural style and modern look of the new West Hall, including its “ribbon roof.” According to the convention center, all construction is set to be finished by the end of 2025.

(To watch highlights from the topping out ceremony of the last beam placed for the exterior renovation, check out the video at the end of this story.)

That means attendees of North America’s largest construction trade show, scheduled for March 3-7, 2026, will find a host of improvements to the convention center.

Work on the South Hall renovation was completed in January. The east side of the hall now has a sprawling new outdoor plaza, entrance and indoor lobby.

Work on the North Hall is expected to be completed this fall and for the Central Hall into 2025 and include the following:

  • North Hall – new lighting, enhanced entrances and signage for exhibit space; renovated meeting rooms and improved technology features, including the addition of LED monitors outside every meeting room and enhanced sound and digital signage.
  • Extension of the exterior glass and signature ribbon roof toward the North and Central halls to match the West Hall architecture.
  • Addition of climate-controlled interior concourse between the North Hall and the South Hall with interior access across the entire campus.
  • Expansive Grand Lobby between the North and Central halls, featuring four large digital displays.
  • Expansion of North Hall concourse between North and West halls with new glass walls for natural light and for views of the Las Vegas Strip and outdoor exhibit spaces.
  • New carpet, lighting and digital displays for the Central Hall Grand Lobby.
  • Renovated exhibit space in the Central Hall with new lighting, improved entrances and signage.
  • Enhancements to Silver Lot outdoor exhibit space, with improved technology, lighting and dedicated loading areas for ride share and shuttle buses.
  • New digital displays, digital pylon signs, wayfinding, and interactive information kiosks throughout the facility.
  • Upgraded electrical access for tradeshow organizers and exhibitors and increased connectivity for guests.

Attendees could also see an expanded Vegas Loop, in which electric Teslas transport riders throughout the convention center campus, as well as linking them to various hotels. Tunnels have been bored to the Westgate Las Vegas, Encore and Wynn, and Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, but stations have not yet opened. The only open station off the convention center campus, so far, is at Resorts World.

On August 13, officials marked the placement of the final beam for the renovation project.

A joint venture of AECOM Hunt and PENTA is the contractor. Design is by Klai-Juba-Wald Architects, and Miller & Ham Project Development is overseeing the construction.

“Today is really significant for Las Vegas and for our customers,” said Steve Hill, president and CEO of the LVCVA during the topping-out ceremony. “It is a testament to the importance of the meeting and convention industry to Las Vegas, the diligence of the board and this community over the years to make it happen. We’re excited. It’s a milestone for our city.”

ConExpo-Con/Agg is managed by the Association of Equipment Manufacturers, which is also a show co-owner along with National Ready Mixed Concrete Association and the National, Stone, Sand & Gravel Association.
