VICTOR HEIGHTS, LOS ANGELES (KABC) — A picture perfect view of the Los Angeles skyline is becoming a nightmare for the people who live there. Residents in the Victor Heights neighborhood near downtown say it is drawing crowds to the hilltop street and they’ve had enough.

The corner of Figueroa Terrace and Centennial Street, just south of Dodger Stadium, has long been used as a professional filming spot and loved by amateur photographers. But in the era of viral media, residents say it has become a mess, drawing dozens of social media enthusiasts throughout the day and night.

Residents say behind all of the traffic and late-night noise are real families trying to live their lives – including a 3-year-old girl who has undergone multiple surgeries and needs oxygen. Her family lives right near the popular spot.

“You know where she lives? Right on that corner where the TikTokers think that it’s OK to come at 2 o’clock in the morning, smoke weed, drink and get crazy all night,” said Raul Claros, director of California Rising, said during the meeting.

Those frustrated residents are now organizing to push the city for a solution.

They gathered Wednesday night at Eastside Italian Deli to talk about how to take back their streets.

It comes after another heated public safety meeting last week when residents brought their concerns to city officials. But they say they’re still waiting for answers.

A representative for Councilmember Eunises Hernandez’s office told the group her office is still working with city departments on how to enforce safety and order in the area, and try to limit the amount of visitors, but did not have a concrete update.

The Los Angeles Police Department did not appear to be at the meeting.

Residents are looking at what they can do themselves, including forming a community association and possibly a new neighborhood watch.
