What is a Costco Business Center? Why shop at a Costco Business Center? What you won’t find at a Costco Business Center

If you’ve ever seen a Costco Business Center and driven right past, assuming the warehouse store was only for business owners, you’ll love this news: If you’ve got a Costco membership, you can shop at one of their Business Centers—and it might be the key to an even better shopping experience.

What is a Costco Business Center?

A Costco Business Center is exactly what it sounds like: a store designed primarily for business owners or those shopping for a company, filled with a wider selection of bulk products that could fill a store or a restaurant. These stores have more items that might appeal to a business owner, like office furniture, bulk items like soda and food or commercial products.

But the great thing about a Costco Business Center is that you don’t have to be a business owner to shop there—only a Costco member! Plus, these stores open a few hours earlier than your regular Costco, so if you want to get an early start, you can.

One of the best parts of shopping at one of Costco’s Business Centers is the variety of products it offers that you can’t find at a regular Costco. While they both sell products in bulk, Business Centers have even more, like cases of oranges and different flavors of coffee creamer. They also sell individually wrapped snacks if you’re shopping smaller, but those options will be more from the junk food category than a healthy choice.

Costco Business Centers are also known to have a larger drink selection, with flavors you might not find at a Costco warehouse, such as Jarritos Mango Soda. According to the Costco website, “If you have a favorite flavor of soda or sports drink, you may be able to find it in a single-flavor pack.”

What you won’t find at a Costco Business Center

If you’re on the hunt for their seasonal favorites (like their Advent calendars or fall decor), you may want to stick to your regular Costco.

Costco is known for its selection of seasonal items, from holiday decorations to treats you only buy once a year. But the Business Center does not offer those same items.

According to one Reddit user, “The business center does not have the seasonal items, clothes, toys, books or other household goods.”

Another thing you won’t find at the Business Centers: food courts and free samples. While you may be used to shopping and stopping for a free cheese cube or a prepared food bite, Business Centers don’t offer them.

They also don’t have food courts—except at a few specific locations in North Hollywood, California, Commerce, California, Honolulu, and Salt Lake City, Utah.

If you want to shop for more bulk items or just want to see what it’s all about, head to your closest Costco Business Center. There aren’t many around the country—only 27 or 28—so if you are near one and you’re a Costco member, make sure to check it out!
