EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) – For the first time ever, the Wisconsin Latino Chamber of Commerce visited Eau Claire.
The chamber held an event today aimed at helping Hispanic-Latino entrepreneurs in the area connect with services and resources that will help them start or expand their businesses.
Chamber officials said empowering Latino-owned businesses to succeed not only strengthens the economic fabric of communities but also celebrates cultural heritage.
“They want to start businesses or have already started. What we do is we help them to professionalize the business, establish it, make it official, and then we give them the tools, the education, the capital to help them grow so they can give back to the community,” said Temo Xopin of the Wisconsin Latino Chamber of Commerce.
The Wisconsin Latino Chamber of Commerce was founded in 2003. It now has more than 540 members and more than 20 partner communities in Wisconsin.
