Family members haven’t heard from Angela Marisol Diaz since June 30. Houston police say her last known location was an apartment complex on Park Place Boulevard.

HOUSTON — A Houston family is desperate for answers as the search continues for a missing 22-year-old woman.

Relatives said they haven’t seen or heard from Angela Marisol Diaz since a text message on June 30.

“She was happy, she was good, she was not afraid, perfectly normal,” Angela’s mother, Yesenia Diaz, told us.

We’ve learned new details since we first told you about Angela’s disappearance earlier this month.

Houston police are investigating the case and they now believe Angela’s last known location was on Park Place Boulevard near Galveston Road.

“We’re very concerned for her safety,” Yesenia said. “I believe she’s alive and she’s out there, that she needs help …”

According to the family, Diaz’s boyfriend said he dropped her off at the Moonlight Inn & Suites on the Gulf Freeway around on June 30 to meet with another man.

“Why did he leave [his] girlfriend to another man’s hands? For what reason?” Yesenia asked. “Because of right now, I do not know that answer.”

HPD said they have interviewed multiple people, including a male acquaintance who saw Angela on the night she went missing.

Her family said they also tried to speak with the man.

“When (I) called, I asked about my daughter. He said, at first, he didn’t know her, then said, ‘Yes, I dropped her off at Telephone Road,'” Angela’s father, Edward Diaz, told us. “I told him, ‘Well, at 4 o’clock in the morning, her phone says she’s not on Telephone.’ He just cussed at me and hung up the phone.”

Family members have hung flyers at a strip center near the East Freeway at Federal Road where they said Angela’s phone last pinged.

They even went to the mayor’s office to ask for help.

“It’s stressful because we want answers right away,” Yesenia said. “That’s not the person she is to go missing for three weeks to not say anything, without a trace.”

Anyone with information about Angela’s whereabouts is asked to call HPD.
