Your guide to Salt Lake-area Easter egg hunts

Get your baskets and keep your eyes peeled. There are lots of Easter egg hunts this weekend for families and adults.


Egg hunts for families

Memory Grove Park: Preservation Utah is hosting a free egg hunt and costume parade through the grove.

  • When: 10am-Noon Saturday
  • Admission: Free

Millcreek: There are two free egg hunts in town!

  • The East Mill Creek Lions Club’s egg hunt starts at 9am on Saturday at Evergreen Park.
  • The city’s Eggstravaganza brings vendors, egg hunts and other activities to Heatherwood Middle School. Events begin at 10:30am Saturday, with age-specific hunts starting at 11am.

South Salt Lake: Head to Central Park, 2797 S. 200 East, for egg hunts, the Tiny Tots fair, and a butterfly release.

  • When: 9am Saturday
  • Admission: Free

West Valley City: There are loads of events in and around the Family Fitness Center, from egg plunges in the pool to a nighttime flashlight egg hunt for teens.

  • When: Friday and Saturday.
  • Admission: Varies by event. Register now for pool events, indoor egg hunts and “edutainment” egg hunts. Outdoor hunts are free, with no registration.

Draper: Meet the Easter Bunny, Elsa and Anna, get your face painted and scramble for eggs at Galena Park.

  • When: Activities 9am-11am Saturday, with egg hunts at 10am.
  • Admission: Free

Cottonwood Heights: Food trucks, balloon artists, and the bunny will be at Butler Park before the egg hunt begins.

  • When: Activities start 9am Saturday, with egg hunts at 10am.
  • Admission: Free

West Jordan: Check your eggs for candy and prize tickets at the Utah Youth Soccer Complex, 7965 S. 4000 West.

  • When: 9am Saturday
  • Admission: Free

South Jordan: The city’s Spring Spectacular brings baby animals, live music, a plant raffle and a candy scramble to the softball fields, 10800 S. Redwood Rd.

  • When: 9am Saturday
  • Admission: Free

Riverton: Enjoy candy and activities as you tour stations in Riverton City Park for the annual Bunny Hop, 10am-11am Saturday.

  • Teens can still sign up for the Egg-Streme Chase scavenger hunt, which starts at noon on Friday.

Multiple locations: Memorial Mortuaries and Cemeteries will host free candy hunts on Saturday, with donuts and juice for guests.

  • 10am: West Jordan, Sandy, Bountiful and Holladay
  • 11am: Cottonwood Heights

Living Planet Aquarium: Head to the plaza for face painting, a dance party, bunny meet-n-greets and multiple egg dashes.

  • When: 10am-4pm Saturday
  • Cost: Aquarium admission applies

The Leonardo: Springfest offers games, crafts, science activities and an egg scavenger hunt.

  • When: Noon-4pm Saturday
  • Admission: $15 per person older than 3; half off for members

Egg hunts for grownups

Second Summit Cider: Wester Market brings vendors, live music and an adult-and-dog egg hunt to the cidery, 4010 S. Main St., Millcreek.

  • When: 11am-4pm Saturday

T.F. Brewing: The 14th Annual Bunny Hop fundraiser includes food trucks, craft beer and DJ’d music.

  • When: 11am-sunset
  • Admission: $25
