Step up, contenders: Zaddy’s in Colony Square’s Politan Row food hall just might have the biggest sandwiches in the city.
Why it matters: Atlanta is home to pint-sized sandwiches (Victory) and big sandwiches (Bona Fide Deluxe, Humble Mumble and Tassili’s Raw Reality).
- The colossal sandwich is an entirely different game. Zaddy’s is one of the few players.
Vibes: Diners have two size options: “baby” (more like a traditional sub) and “classic” (you’ll need two hands, a python’s ability to take huge bites of food, and a to-go box).
- The “elevated” sandwich menu includes smoked turkey, Cajun lemon pepper tuna, chicken Caesar, and a grilled veggie option built on eggplant, zucchini and roasted red pepper.
- All sandwiches are served with jerk mayo, slow-roasted tomatoes, sliced red onions and organic mixed greens.
Catch up quick: Named after the slang word for a handsome gentleman, Zaddy’s grew out of owner and chef Aliah Jefferson’s giant sandwich delivery business during the pandemic.
- Not long after, she opened her brick-and-mortar spot in Politan Row.
