BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – UAB’s Erik Olin has been selected as an individual qualifier for the 2026 NCAA Men’s Golf Regionals, the NCAA announced on Wednesday. Olin will compete at the Athens Regional, hosted by University of Georgia, from May 17–20 at the UGA Golf Course.

Olin will compete as the No. 5 individual seed in the tournament. The field features 2024 National Champion and No. 1 seed Auburn, No. 2 seed Illinois, No. 5 seed and host Georgia and other top programs and individuals from across the country.

A graduate transfer from Falsterbo, Sweden, Olin has been one of UAB’s top performers throughout the 2025-26 season. He owns a 70.4 scoring average and captured medalist honors at the Thomas Sharkey Individual Collegiate, highlighting a season that included multiple top-10 finishes. Olin’s stroke average ranks third all-time in UAB history.

Olin also earned All-American Conference honors and was named the American Conference Player of the Week on Feb. 11.

In the fall, Olin posted a 71.6 stroke average with 10 rounds at or below par and three top-20 finishes, quickly establishing himself as a consistent presence in UAB’s lineup after transferring from USC Aiken.

Head Coach Charlie Hoyle on Olin: “Since he has got to campus, Erik has been coachable and consistent. He has had an incredibly consistent season and has been a high percentage counter for us. This regional selection is well deserved and a testament to his improvement and his great play.”

The NCAA Regionals feature 81 of the nation’s top teams and 45 individual qualifiers competing for a berth in the NCAA Championship. The Athens Regional will be contested May 17–20 at the UGA Golf Course, one of the premier collegiate venues in the Southeast.

The top five teams and the low individual not on an advancing team from each regional will advance to the NCAA Championship, held Friday, May 29 – Wednesday, June 3 at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California.
