LA CROSSE, Wis. – (WXOW) – The Latino Bar, a downtown La Crosse establishment, is facing the possible loss of it’s liquor license.
Two special meetings of the Judiciary and Administrative Committee happen on Wednesday and Thursday afternoon and a special meeting of the La Crosse City Council focus on the numerous complaints about the bar and it’s serving underage customers.
According to a letter to the city council from a La Crosse police officer, the bar has a reputation for being a “freshman bar” allowing underage drinking.
According to a letter to the council from a La Crosse police officer, “the bar has been a disorderly presence in our community since 2022.” That was when the bar first opened on 5th Avenue South.
It was also noted that the bar has a reputation as being a “freshman bar”.
In paperwork, the owner/manager of the bar, Jonnathan Vargas Paredes told officers during one incident that police were targeting his bar.
