A person was severely injured Monday afternoon in downtown Los Angeles after a group of people who participated in the 2025 World Series Dodgers parade gathered for an unauthorized party.
After the parade buses carrying the Dodger players and their family left the area, an unsanctioned party began at around 12:55 p.m. in the area of 7th and Grand streets as a live DJ began playing for an audience of about 700 people, the Los Angeles Police Department said.
Even after the DJ was told to leave the area, the participants continued to stay, which led to the LAPD to issue a dispersal order.
At one point, those who gathered for the unauthorized party began placing steel bike racks in the middle of the streets to block themselves off, the LAPD said. The group also stopped a city maintenance worker from picking up the barricades that had been set up for the Dodgers’ parade.
It was not immediately clear how the injury occurred to the parade participant.
