Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice had about as good a rookie season as he could have hoped for after being drafted in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft.

Rice then proceeded to have perhaps as bad an offseason as he could have possibly imagined.

Thankfully for the SMU product, things got a little bit better on Tuesday when an alleged assault victim dropped charges against him.

“The reporting party has signed an affidavit of non-prosecution. The investigation is ongoing,” Dallas police told ESPN.

Chiefs WR Rashee Rice Faced A Bevy Of Legal Issues In The Offseason

Rice was under investigation for allegedly hitting a photographer at a club in Dallas earlier this month. The photographer is now calling the incident a “misunderstanding.”

News of the altercation came just over a month after Rice was found to have fled the scene of a multi-car accident on a Dallas freeway. Video showed Rice and friends were traveling well over the speed limit in high-performance vehicles at the time of the crash.  Police said Rice was traveling at 119 mph shortly before the crash.

But his troubles don’t stop there.

Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk reported that Rice was involved in an incident where shots were fired into the empty vehicle of SMU basketball player Kendric Davis while he was in college.

Rice allegedly believed Davis was seeing his girlfriend at the time.

The second-year wideout is currently working with the Chiefs this week as they begin their offseason practices.

Reports state he’s facing a multi-game suspension for his role in the hit-and-run accident.

Rice caught 79 passes for 938 yards and seven touchdowns as a rookie. He also proved to be a key weapon for quarterback Patrick Mahomes in the Chiefs’ run to another Super Bowl.

But it appears he’ll have to take a step back before a step forward in year two.
