(CNN) – Iran’s soccer team left a handwritten note in its locker room Sunday after playing to a 0-0 draw with Belgium in World Cup action.

The note said the team’s players came to the U.S. “with pride, competed with honor, and leave with dignity.”

In the next line, the team thanked Los Angeles for its hospitality.

The note ended with “May peace, respect and friendship prevail among all nations.”

Iran’s national team played two matches in Los Angeles and next travels to Seattle for a match against Egypt.

Travel restrictions have relegated Iran’s team to base in Tijuana, Mexico for their entire run of the tournament.
