LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The U.S. women’s Olympic hockey team is coming to Las Vegas to celebrate taking home the gold after rapper Flavor Flav offered to host the team.

Flavor Flav invited the USA women’s Olympic hockey team to celebrate their big win in Las Vegas after the team turned down President Trump’s invitation to his State of the Union address.

“I want to go bigger and better, you know what I’m saying, word up,” Flavor Flav said in a video posted to Instagram Tuesday. “Guess what I’m going to do. I want to bring all United States female Olympians and Paralympians, the ones that won medals. Also, all my bobsled and skeleton athletes.”

On Wednesday, Flavor Flav confirmed to USA Today that the celebration in Las Vegas will take place July 16 through July 19.

“I’m going to give them a parade, they’re definitely going to have a parade. And then also, I’m going to see what type of entertainment that I can put together,” he told USA Today.

The team won its third Olympic gold medal on Thursday, overtaking Canada in overtime with a 2-1 win.

After Flavor Flav’s public invitation to the gold medal-winning team, several Las Vegas-based businesses, companies, and entertainers jumped in on social media to ensure the team gets the celebration of a lifetime.

Las Vegas commented on X saying, “Count us in. We’re happy to help host @USAHockey Women and every @TeamUSA athlete who medaled. All of them! We’re the Celebration Capital of the World for a reason. Let’s make this happen. What do you say @CaesarsEnt @MGMResortsIntl @HarrahsVegas?”

To which MGM Resorts replied, “Celebrating champions is kind of our thing, count us in for whatever you need!” Caesars Entertainment replied, “We need a proper celly in the Celebration Capital of the World and we’re here for it,” and Harrah’s Las Vegas replied, “Come out and play at Ramsay’s Kitchen We would be honored to host the team.”

The Palms also jumped on the fun, writing on Instagram that they are “proud” to support Flaav and the hockey team. The property also posted to X, saying, “Palms is IN, @FlavorFlav, we clocked you. Over-the-top suites, next-level dining, iconic sky views, celebration worthy of champions… Now we just need the gold. #USAWomensHockeyTeam, Vegas is waiting.”

Resorts World commented on Instagram saying, “@flavorflavofficial Resorts World Las Vegas would be honored to host the entire USA women’s hockey team. We’ll provide the hotel rooms, meals and any amenity they’re interested in, including an amazing spa treatment!”

The City of Las Vegas commented on Flavor Flav’s post, saying, “Mayor Berkley would love to meet them and welcome them to Las Vegas!”

National companies also joined in on the fun like StubHub who offered to help with tickets to shows and Alaska Airlines also teased that they would help out, responding to the rapper with “let’s talk.” Flavor Flav responded enthusiastically, saying he would message the airline.

The invitation from Flav follows the team declining the invitation to attend President Donald Trump’s State of the Union address on Tuesday, citing scheduling conflicts.

“We are sincerely grateful for the invitation extended to our gold medal–winning U.S. Women’s Hockey Team and deeply appreciate the recognition of their extraordinary achievement,” a USA Hockey spokesperson said in a statement to the Associated Press. “Due to the timing and previously scheduled academic and professional commitments following the Games, the athletes are unable to participate.”

The president also invited the men’s hockey team, which won gold in a 2-1 overtime victory over Canada on Sunday. Videos circulating on social media show Trump on a phone call with the men’s hockey team while the team celebrated in the locker room.

The Associated Press reports that while extending the invitation to the team, Trump can be heard saying, “I must tell you, we’re going to have to bring the women’s team, you do know that.” The president then joked that if he did not also invite the women’s team, “I do believe I probably would be impeached.”

On Wednesday, Hilary Knight, forward on the gold-medal winning women’s hockey team, called Trump’s comments “a distasteful joke” in an interview with ESPN and that she is “looking forward to celebrating all great things that have come out of the Olympics and feeling the love and support and getting back in our respective communities and sharing this journey with them. And that’s what this is all about.”
