LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – Live music, food and piñatas took over Antelope Park Saturday afternoon during El Centro de las América’s ninth annual Latino Festival.
The festivities were part of Lincoln Welcome Week, a celebration of diversity and inclusivity across the community.
“Immigrants have built our country over hundreds of years,” El Centro de las América’s Board Director Michelle Saurez said. “We are proud to continue that celebration of contribution, family and connections.”
The festival is an extension of the organizations outreach and impact in the Lincoln community, according to El Centro de las América’s Executive Director Roméo Guerra.
El Centro provides education, assistance and health support for Latino families and immigrants across the community.
Lincoln Welcome Week began Sept. 11 and will conclude on Sept. 26.
