If you’re finding it tedious to surf online and find the most interesting developments in the MMA world, we have just the right compilation for you. Here’s another edition of the daily roundup to help you quench your thirst for the biggest stories in our favorite sport. To start this, we’ll take a look at longtime UFC commentator Joe Rogan, who stood corrected by his JRE producer regarding one piece of information about Conor McGregor‘s career.

Then, we’ll swiftly jump to the news of the undefeated Khamzat Chimaev, who’s setting his eyes on UFC gold when he returns later in the year. Finally, we will sum up this roundup edition with Curtis Blaydes‘s thoughts about his title fight against Manchester’s own, Tom Aspinall.

Jamie Vernon corrects Joe Rogan about Conor McGregor

Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson recently made his highly anticipated debut on the JRE podcast. There, he squashed the supposed beef he had with Joe Rogan, and in one instance of the interview, started talking about Max Holloway. During episode #159 of JRE MMA Show, the 56-year-old confidently claimed that Conor McGregor was ‘Blessed’s first UFC opponent, stating, “I think his first fight was Conor McGregor.” This came to his producer, Young Jamie V or Jamie Vernon, who couldn’t help but chime in and fact-check Rogan because even Jackson wasn’t sure if that was the truth.

Do you think Joe Rogan should be more careful with his facts on air?

Doesn’t matter, he’s entertaining

Joe Rogan also mentioned the time when Conor McGregor was knocking out opponents left, right, and center, but it was Max Holloway who was able to go to distance. But guess what? Jamie Vernon claimed that the JRE host was wrong. While he said, “No. It was like his sixth fight actually,” Joe Rogan got stunned and responded by claiming, “Really, no sh*t. Wow, he had so many fights, man, isn’t that crazy?” This isn’t the first time Rogan’s been proved wrong because, after all, things like these can happen during discussions.

Khamzat Chimaev eyes an October return with a title shot

There’s been no word on Khamzat Chimaev after he pulled out of his UFC Saudi Arabia fight against Robert Whittaker, at least until now. The Emirati star has laid bare his plans as he looks to make his return in 2024. Having pulled out of a few fights, some people feel as if his mystique is slowly fading away. However, ‘Borz’ feels confident about returning and getting a title shot in Abu Dhabi, and currently negotiating with Dana White & Co.

“Most likely [my return will happen] in October in Abu Dhabi. The opponent is not yet known, but I would like to fight for the title. I have seven fights, seven victories. There is no fighter in the UFC who has won seven fights without fighting for the belt. Dana White constantly says different things, but we are negotiating,” Khamzat Chimaev told ‘MatchTV’.

He is currently sitting at the 11th position in the 185lbs rankings, hence it remains to be seen if he qualifies for a title shot since some people claim him to be a “liability.“ Now, let’s dive into our last news with some words from Curtis Blaydes.

Curtis Blaydes doesn’t feel like he’s in a “real title fight” against Tom Aspinall

4th-ranked heavyweight contender Curtis Blaydes has finally got his hands on a UFC title shot at UFC 304. However, he appeared dismayed over the timing of the PPV and his fight against Tom Aspinall. The time issue has been brought up by a plethora of MMA personalities and Blaydes cited how someone like Conor McGregor doesn’t get such kind of treatment from the UFC.

“The biggest difference is it’s gonna be like 4 a.m., and that’s what doesn’t really feel like a real title fight. You wouldn’t have McGregor fight at 4 a.m. regardless of where it is in the world,” Curtis Blaydes revealed during UFC Denver’s media scrum. “I’m getting the title fight purse money. That’s all that matters,” he added.
