INDIANAPOLIS, IND — Three Peach Belt Conference softball teams will compete for the national championship as the NCAA released the 64-team bracket on Monday morning. North Georgia, Flagler and Georgia Southwestern will all compete in the Southeast Regional with UNG serving as one of the two hosts of a four-team pod.

Play will begin this Thursday, May 8 and continue through Saturday. The winners of each pod will then meet for a best-of-three regional championship series, the winner of which will advance to the national championships in Chattanooga, Tenn.

North Georgia hosts NCAA tournament play for the 11th year in a row as the #2 seed in the region. The 2015 and 2023 national champions won the PBC regular-season championship this season and reached the championship game in the PBC Tournament on Sunday. UNG is 42-12 heading into the postseason and ranked #10 in the nation by the NFCA. North Georgia will face #7 Tusculum in the first round with #3 Lenoir-Rhyne and #6 Lincoln Memorial also traveling to Dahlonega.

Flagler makes their fourth appearance in the NCAA Tournament and their second in a row. The Saints finished in a tie for second in the regular-season standings and were the third seed for the PBC Tournament where they reached the semifinals. Flagler is 32-20 overall on the year and are the #5 seed in the NCAA regional. The Saints will travel to Florence, S.C., and face fourth-seeded Wingate in their first game.

Georgia Southwestern makes history with their first NCAA Tournament appearance. The Hurricanes won their first PBC Tournament championship on Sunday, defeating North Georgia 7-4 in the final game. GSW beat the #1, #2 and #3 seeds to win and are the first seven seed to be PBC tournament champions.
