MARLBOROUGH – The city’s first adult use marijuana retail business wants to move.

Garden Remedies, which has been at 416 Boston Post Road East since opening in 2019, is requesting an amendment to its special permit in order to relocate to 423 Lakeside Ave.

That location also houses The Vitamin Shoppe.

In a letter to the City Council dated Nov. 12, attorney Brian Falk, on behalf of Garden Remedies, said, “Market changes and the impact of the Route 20 construction project have presented significant business challenges at the company’s existing location.”

Hours of operation would be Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 11 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

During the City Council meeting on Monday, Nov. 18, the request was referred to the Urban Affairs Committee. A public hearing has been scheduled for Monday, Dec. 16.
