With the Nov. 4 general municipal election fast approaching, voters have until 5 p.m. Oct. 28 to request mail-in ballots.
However, election officials urge those interested to act sooner to ensure they receive them on time because that date is only one week before the election.
Voters in Luzerne County can mail their ballots to the board of elections at 20 N. Pennsylvania Ave, Ste. 207, Wilkes-Barre.
For voters who prefer to drop off their ballots instead of mailing them in, drop boxes are set up inside two county-owned properties:
• Penn Place Building, 20 N. Pennsylvania Ave., Wilkes-Barre.
• Broad Street Business Exchange, 100 W. Broad St., Hazleton.

Voters can track the status of their mail in/absentee ballot.
Return deadline
Mail-in ballots for the Nov. 4 election must be physically in the election bureau by 8 p.m. on Election Day.
According to election officials, postmarks do not count.
If you are unable to return your voted mail-in ballot by the deadline, you may only vote a provisional ballot at your polling place on Election Day, unless you surrender your mail-in ballot and the return envelope containing the Voter’s Declaration to the judge of elections to be voided to vote by regular ballot.
