LOS ANGELES —

A player at the top of his game in one sports league, observing the players at the top of their own in another.

Cincinnati Bengals star quarterback Joe Burrow was spotted courtside in Los Angeles on Saturday to watch the NBA playoff game between the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Los Angeles Lakers.

ESPN showed Burrow courtside during the broadcast of the game, which he appeared to be attending solo. This is unlike last year, where Burrow attended a Lakers game in Phoenix with fellow Bengals players Ja’Marr Chase, Sam Hubbard and DJ Reader.

This comes as the NBA playoffs are just getting started this week.

The first game of the best-of-seven series between the two teams was played at 8:30 p.m. Eastern Time (5:30 local), where the Timberwolves recorded an unexpected stomp over the Lakers.

The final score was 117-95.

New Lakers star Luka Dončić scored 37 points in the game, accounting for over a third of the Lakers’ points. Jaden McDaniels led the Timberwolves in points at 25.

NBA stars LeBron James, Austin Reaves and Anthony Edwards also took to the court in the game.

This year the Cleveland Cavaliers, Ohio’s lone NBA team, remain one of the favorites to potentially take home the NBA playoff trophy. The Cavs finished the regular season with the second-best record across the league this year.

Meanwhile, in the NFL, new roster additions for the 2025 season will also take shape this week as the NFL Draft gets underway between April 24 and 26 in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
