LAPD officers were in pursuit of a man possibly driving under the influence in the San Fernando Valley on Friday.
The chase began around 6:40 p.m. in the North Hollywood area after the driver refused to yield.
Multiple police cars trailed behind the pursuit suspect as he sped through the 5 and 170 freeways.
The driver turned onto the southbound 101 Freeway, swerving through traffic as the chase made its way into the west side of the San Fernando Valley.
Police believe the driver to be armed.
The California Highway Patrol took over the chase as the vehicle approached the Reseda off-ramp on the 101 Freeway.
The pursuit came to an end on the northbound 101 Freeway near the Seacliff Avenue exit.
